The Country Living Grain Mill

A Respected Name for Decades.

The Country Living Grain Mill has been known for years as the king of the home manual grain mills. Weighing in at 22 lbs, it is still reasonably light but also durable and solid. It's I-Beam construction and aircraft-aluminum material (covered in a food grade epoxy to prevent contamination) make this easily one of the most durable grain mills we sell, period. All that, and it grinds quickly and easily for a manual mill, especially with the Power Bar attachment that gives you some extra leverage.

Taking a Closer Look:

The heart of the Country Living Grain Mill's robust milling system is the high-carbon steel grinding plates that turn your wheat into flour. They are designed to handle any task, from cracked grains to fine pastry flour, in a single pass. They are largely recommended only for dry grains, such as wheat, rice, rye, and corns: oily seeds tend to clog the plates and can make a mess.

The Body and Housing:

The body and housing is made of a lightweight aircraft-aluminum, which protects the stainless steel grinding shaft from harm. The food-grade epoxy keeps your flour away from aluminum contamination and protects the metal. Overall, it is easily one of the most rugged manual grain mills on the market, and is made to last for generations.

Country Living sells a kit which can be attached the flyheel

that you attach your handle to when manually grinding. If you wish you can also motorize the mill yourself, though using any other method besides the approved kit will void your warranty. Customers who have motorized report that it runs well, and it certainly makes good use of the durability of the mill.

An Excellent Warranty:

The Country Living Grain Mill comes with a Limited Lifetime Warranty from the manufacturer which covers all parts except for the steel grinding plates, which even as a wear item are still covered for a full year. This means that even if this highly-durable, well-engineered, and extremely robust grain mill should somehow fail, the matter will be dealt with promptly.
